According to a Time Magazine Article on March 5, 2009 the “King of Pop” had undergone “underwent rigorous health checks to prove his fitness.” AEG, the group that was sponsoring a series of concerts Jackson was going to perform in London, may indeed find itself in legal hot water if those “rigorous health checks” were not in fact as “rigorous” as claimed.
Again, according to the article, AEG “obtained insurance to protect against Jackson falling ill and canceling performances>’ This as a result of photos showing Jackson in a wheelchair being pushed by his children. AEG Live’s deal with Jackson was said to be worth just shy of half a billion dollars.
Jackson’s health problems, however, were no suprise. Back in February Vocley.com reported rumors of Jackson’s ill health, The cached page is here.
The website noted: ” The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, feels that he is close to dead and he has wanted his sister, Janet Jackson, to take care of his kids when he dies. “Michael feels the end is near. He’s terrified that if he dies, his children will end up with his aging parents or his brothers,” a source told National Enquirer, adding, “He knows Janet will give his kids a mother’s love and see that they grow up away from the showbiz spotlight.”
Even mnore damming for AEG’s insurance claims is this: “Michael is in bad shape. He has respiratory problems, heart palpitations, is losing weight rapidly and is now worried that he may have contracted the killer flesh-eating disease,” the source continued. “He’s been visiting a Beverly Hills clinic receiving antibiotics through an intravenous drip. Michael has difficulty walking, often has to use a wheelchair and spends most of his days in bed, at the doctor’s office or in the bathroom.”
